No escape from me
Hello IELTSers
Well the weekend has almost gone and Saturday looms...
You were going to attempt the 12 tasks(?) of Hercules for me, how many did you manage?
- Finish (?) that Reading test you started.
- Review your handouts.
- Look at the Insight textbook.
- Do the Task 2 writing homework.
- Buy some subject dividers.
- Send Zeena a birthday greeting.
- Do the punctuation exercise.
- Visit some IELTS websites.
- Listen to BBC World Service on 90.3FM.
- Join the weblog and make a posting.
- Practise your English.
- Relax!
As you realize by now, this is an IELTS driven weblog. I'd like to see you posting work and asking each other questions. I can ask you to do certain tasks, but until you start POSTING (only 5 people have made a post so far) then it all gets a bit restricted and not very helpful.
Not a single blog member has commented on ANY of my postings to date. Er, HELLO? Is there a problem?
As you know, I have very high standards that I set myself and my students. As things stand at the current moment, this IELTS class seems to lack self belief (apart from a few indidviduals). Come on, we have to start working together, or it gets harder and less fun for all of us.
Arwe you checking www.ieltsmagic.blogspot.com ? Some of that weblog are taking the IELTS NOW!! They have posted some excellent advice that can help you guys.
So, let's have some initiative and spirit. Where are you? What are you?
Comments expected!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tony

Task 2 writing hw??!?
i seem to have done all the tasks except this one.
If its not too much, could someone enlighten me about the task 2 hw, i have written down the "page 67" in my notebook, but dont know exactly what the topic is?
Is it page 67?
My second question is regarding the punctuation worksheet.
Incase we dont know the answer to certain fill ups, could we leave them blank or do we HAVE to write something?
Looking for a reply before the Saturday class.
i seem to have done all the tasks except this one.
If its not too much, could someone enlighten me about the task 2(IT WAS THE WRITING TASK ON THE HANDOUT WHICH HAD THE TASK 1 WRITING - ACADEMIC WRITING MODES OF TRANSPORT ETC) OK?
My second question is regarding the punctuation worksheet.
In case we don't know the answer to certain fill ups, could we leave them blank {YEAH, LEAVE THEM BLANK. MOST NATIVE SPEAKERS ARE HOPELESS AT PUNCTUATION. I EXPECT YOU TO KNOW HOW TO USE ONLY 4 - 5 PUNCTUATION MARKS ANYWAY.}
Nice to hear from you Mubaraka.
I'll log in again before I hit the pit.

Time to burn the mid night oil...
catch you all tomorrow
Greetings people,
Just came to know of this particular conversation class to be held tomorrow via the ielts magic weblog.
Is it kind of a joint group discussion regarding ielts?
What time is it held?
Can i join in?
I'd like to certainly pop in if it could help me with the course.
Thank you Yasmeen for your effort to help us(i-words).
We would certainly like you to grace us by visiting our class( and help us figure where we are going wrong and how we can apply efforts in the right direction).
Good night all
Hello Mubaraka
The class is at 11.00 TODAY, Sunday - it's GENERAL topics, not IELTS related. You should have registered beforehand, but I'm sure the teacher, Lucy, will be glad if you just turn up.
Don't forget that the Learning Zone is RESERVED for students all afternoon and evening, today 17 April. So get on down and start revising / reviewing.
It's still early days for me to diagnose where you or other students are going 'wrong' as such. Even yasmeen can only speak for herself and what she gained from the course and how it helped her. Rather than focus on such 'negative' thinking, why not build on your strengths and target the IELTS areas that need attention?
Hello? Where are the others? Are you 'early birds' or 'night owls'?
Best regards
Tony
